Personal Details

Besides my role as a student pursuing a Master's in Social Work with a concentration in System Dynamics, I have a diverse professional background and a strong passion for promoting gender equality and women's human rights. Throughout my career, I have actively advocated for these causes in global policy spaces, particularly focusing on health, urban and sustainable development policies, and ensuring an intersectional feminist and rights-based lens.
Currently, I hold the position of Principal Partner at Altitude Global Links Limited, where I oversee the construction of 456 housing units across five states in Nigeria. One of my recent initiatives is the Affordable Housing Estate for Women, a project aimed at providing accessible and secure affordable housing communities for women and safe spaces for girls. This endeavor is in partnership with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.
In addition to my work in real estate development, I serve as the President of WoMen Against Violence and Exploitation (WAVE) Foundation, a non-profit organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the UN. In 2017, I launched the StopTheCut® campaign to combat Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Nigeria. Through this campaign, I have managed prevention programming, addressed barriers to care and support for survivors and girls at risk, and organized events such as the first-ever 5km walk to end FGM in Nigeria in 2021. This event has gained significant support from organizations like UNFPA Nigeria, UNICEF Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, and the Federal Ministry of Health.
To further raise awareness about FGM, I co-produced a short documentary in Yoruba and English on the subject in partnership with Sahiyo, which is available on YouTube. Over the years, I have been featured in more than 20 programs on national television, radio, and print media, reaching over 250 million viewers in Nigeria. In 2022, I co-founded Daisy Network, a social service organization that provides trauma-informed support to survivors of FGM/C worldwide, in collaboration with two other FGM survivors in the US and Canada.
My educational background includes a Bachelor and Master of Technology in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria. I have also participated in various short courses at esteemed institutions such as Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, Tostan Training Centre in Thies, Senegal; University of Georgia; Swedish Institute; Iowa State University; and Unesco-IHE Institute of Water Education in Delft, Netherlands.
As a member of several professional associations and a board member of three non-profit organizations, I have been recognized for my outstanding work with several awards, including being named one of the Top 100 Women Impacting Africa by WIN, Advocate of the Year 2022 by the Global Woman P.E.A.C.E Foundation, and Distinguished Merit Outstanding Advocate and Humanitarian Person of Repute by Merit Time International in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and The National Mathematical Centre, Nigeria.
